An interactive AI story lets you take part in a fictional scene through conversation. In Fastmate, episodes have a story setup and multiple possible endings, while you respond in your own words. Full episodes are available in the iOS and Android app for adults aged 18 and over.
Episodes and ongoing chat
An episode gives you a particular situation to play through. Ongoing character chat lets you keep talking to a Mate without first completing that episode.
Both involve AI characters, but they serve different moods: an episode when you want to follow a story, and chat when you want an open conversation. The web supports character chat and Mate creation; use the app for full episodes and real-time voice calls.
How you take part
Read the introduction, consider the situation and reply as yourself in the scene. You can ask questions, express a reaction or take a position. You are not limited to selecting pre-written dialogue options.
Your replies can affect how the conversation develops. They do not make every imaginable action possible, and AI responses may sometimes be inconsistent. If a reply misses your meaning, clarify it.
What makes an episode different
A traditional choice-based story often offers a fixed list of options. An AI episode allows replies in your own words within a story setting. Compared with an open chat, an episode also gives you a direction and an ending to reach.
These are differences in format, not a promise that one is better. Choose a story episode if you want a scene to develop; choose character chat if you want to keep a conversation open.
Start with a mood you enjoy
